Even without a referral, we can still conduct your initial evaluation. In Georgia, direct access to physical therapy is permitted, allowing you to receive our services without a physician referral. Due to the year our building was developed, there are stairs to enter our main office location. If you have a wheelchair or mobility difficulties, let us know ahead of your session and we can utilize our secondary, wheelchair friendly office space.
For your initial evaluation, we will take a comprehensive medical history including surgeries, medications, and current concerns. Range of motion measurements and muscle testing will be conducted as necessary and follow up questions will be noted as we begin to increase movement and deduce your source of pain or discomfort. We will educate you on our findings, give an outline of our plan, and allow time for any questions you may have. You will leave your session with better knowledge of your body’s mechanics as well as receive a follow up email on our findings, plan, and exercises to complete before your next session.
